From ReformedWord
The Gospel (or Gospel) is the miraculous message that God in Jesus Christ died the death we should have died and imputed to us the life we should have lived, His own. Put more simply, Jesus is the gospel, the good news. In learning about the life and character of Jesus, we are learning the about the gospel. As such, biographies of Him are called Gospels. These recollections of His earthly ministry are a unique form of literature, present only in Christianity. In such a Gospel Account, the author is attempting to persuade the reader of the divinity of Christ and historicity of His life.
"The Gospel is the news that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy."
-John Piper, [1]

Simon Gathercole distills a three-point outline that both Paul and the Synoptic writers held in common. [2] He writes that Paul's good news was, first, that Jesus was the promised Messianic King and Son of God come to earth as a servant, in human form. (Romans 1:3,4; Philippians 2:4ff.)
Second, by his death and resurrection, Jesus atoned for our sin and secured our justification by grace, not by our works (1 Corinthians 15:3ff.) Third, on the cross Jesus broke the dominion of sin and evil over us (Colossians 2:13-15) and at his return he will complete what he began by the renewal of the entire material creation and the resurrection of our bodies (Romans 8:18ff.)
