1 Samuel is the ninth book and 2 Samuel the tenth in the Bible. The division of the Books of Samuel is largely the result of the limits in the lengths of scroll, and not a natural split. Furthermore, the plot arc of these books spills over into the Books of Kings and hence we recognize them both to be part of The History of Kings, a larger work
