The book of Amos contains Amos the Prophet's testimony against the people of Israel during the 8th century B.C. It is the 30th book of the Old Testament and the entire Bible, as commonly counted. It is called a Minor Prophet book, not because it is unimportant, but because it is not as large as Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah. The main point of the book is to warn the remnant within Israel of the coming Judgment and to beware of the false teaching going on within Israel.
