Adam was the first human being, created by God from the earth. His name is a Hebrew pun, related to the word for earth. As our original father, he is the federal head of every human being and we all derive our nature from him. God made Adam just and good, but Adam sinned and so plunged as all into misery. We inherit a sinful nature from him.
Physical Characteristics
Adam and Eve, as the progenitors of all mankind, contained all of the genetic and ethnic diversity that is displayed in the human race today. Given that there are four genes that control skin color, God could have made Adam white and Eve black or any combination. They may have both been middle brown.
Life
Created by God in the Garden of Eden, he lived in an unfallen world and walked with God. He worked in the garden and was given the task of naming all the animals by God. God then made Eve from one of his ribs. Soon, however, they sinned at the instigation of the Devil and eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. God then expelled them from the Garden, lest they should eat the fruit of the Tree of Eternal Life. They were cursed and the whole world with them.
Adam married Eve and had many children, three of whom are named in the English: Cain, Abel and Seth. He was created on the sixth day of the world (0 A.M.) and died in 930 A.M. at an age of 930 years11,502.488 mon
